Growing a Blue Eye Dragonfly community.

At Blue Eye Dragonfly we wanted to create both an online and offline community where inspiring mindfulness was the measure of success. Clearly articulating our values is important to getting our message across to others. That’s why we created our affirmation candles and now the dragonfly totem blog.

For instance, one of our values is to make it impactful. This made releasing our newly designed branding a natural first step. It was a mindful way of sharing our vision and purpose.

Another benefit of being clear about what we stand for is that we wanted to become a bright light for others — and attract survivors and kindred spirits from all walks of life.

Finally, we want to focus on learning, growing and exploring possibilities within our community.

Our community was born out of our need to be surrounded with likeminded people. We know that so many people feel run down, isolated, and out of place sometimes in the world and need to find their own tribe. We want to be your tribe.

Our values are not trophies to be put on display. We live them, not laminate them.

We’ve found that deep connections can be formed quickly when sharing meaningful experiences.

A shared experience helps build a shared reality. We believe shared stories, like shared experiences, create a deep sense of belonging.

Our community is not just about communicating but how and what we communicate. Whether it’s writing a blog post, creating a new affirmation for our candles or giving a talk on social media, how you communicate your message is as important as what you say.

You don’t have to be a great storyteller or designer to share great stories. What you need to do is create empathy.

Building community is a process that not only fosters connection amongst people, but it offers a collective space for experience sharing.

Community spaces, like Blue Eye Blog, is designed through systems of safety, openness and good moderation to allow people to share their experiences and learn from one another.

The act of sharing becomes a very empowering practice that can turn into a source of motivation, inspiration, learning and support for the people in the community.
